KS3
KS3 Project IdeasThis is a great opportunity for you to take your learning further from the foundations that you have developed in your science lessons. There are so many topics you could find out more about and investigate, below are a few ideas to get you started. You can report your project as a video or make a project board that can be displayed around school when the lockdown has finished.
The SunYou could learn about our nearest star, The Sun . The STFC have a stunning poster that you can view online and the SunSpaceArt project has some wonderful creative ideas for sharing you learning.
StarsYou could learn about the lifecycles of stars and find out how they change over time. The National Schools' Observatory is a great starting place for this subject.
GalaxiesYou could learn about galaxies, how they are classified and compared. The National Schools' Observatory is a great starting place for this subject too.
The UniverseYou could learn about ideas about the formation of the Universe. ESA Kids introduce the Big Bang in a simple way but you could go on to find out more with the STFC's Little Book of the Big bang.
ExoplanetsYou could learn about exoplanets and the search for extraterrestrial life. You could get involved in a citizen science project such as Exoplanet Explorers .
SatellitesYou could learn about artificial satellites and how they are used. EO Detective is a great place to find out about how satellites are used to monitor our planet.
RocketsYou could learn about how rockets work and the latest technology being used to explore the Solar System. NASA have instructions on how to make a Straw Rocket which you could make and investigate.
Space habitatsYou could design an habitat for humans to live on the Moon or Mars. NASA's Space Place have some ideas about how you could do this and so does ESA Kids. You could even get involved in the Moon Camp Challenge.
